VICTORIA SALLIE, FOUNDER

Hey guys! My name is Victoria Sallie, and I’m a 23 year old Blogger, Social Media Manager, and Recruiter. I was born and raised in New York, but I love to travel. My last relaxer was January 12th, 2013. I began transitioning during my five months studying abroad, and I brought my hair journey back with me!

To be perfectly honest, blogging was a spur of the moment idea. I originally started the Tresses and Treats blog for food and my natural hair journey. I never had much experience with dealing with my own hair, so learning to care for it was as good a topic to blog about as any!

Once I began my hair journey, I was totally in love with it. I spent hours reading blogs, watching YouTube tutorials, and experimenting (nothing is a better experience than trying to learn something in a completely different country where people don’t speak your language). I started to notice that I had to go to a million different blogs to find different pieces of information. And that’s how my blog really took it’s form. I try to blog about ALL aspects of my hair journey, while sharing inspiration from others. It’s such a great way to connect with people and I love it!

I recently made the switch to WordPress, and in the process Tresses and Treats has become Talk Tresses. I will still have my old articles (which will explain if you ever see a Tresses & Treats logo), but I am excited for a new beginning, and I hope to share more tips, tricks, and tidbits from my hair journey with you.!

In my spare time, I read a lot. And I watch Pretty Little Liars. I’m a fun person to be around (if you don’t mind talking about hair and food all day!). I think I’m funny, but that’s up for interpretation. I’m always around for anyone that needs help from me. No matter how you found Talk Tresses, or this About Me page, I just want to say THANK YOU FOR READING! Check out some of my articles, they’re pretty good!

 JASMINE, CONTRIBUTING WRITER

Jasmine is a natural hair blogger who created www.JaiCURLS.com March 2015
to satisfy her need to help other find the beauty of themselves in their
hair. She discovered her love for natural hair in October 2012 when she
decided to big chop after only 3 weeks of transitioning. Although she
initially chose to return natural for thicker and more dense hair, she
found so much more in her journey and encourage everyone to enjoy their
journey and to not focus so much on the designation. When she isn’t
creating content or playing in her hair, Jasmine is either traveling,
doing yoga, or reading any book she can get her hands on.

I am a natural hair enthusiast from the little island of Grenada, who’s central aim is to educate and help others embrace natural hair. I started my own blog ‘CurliKay’ in 2014 and my YouTube channel shortly after. My ultimate goal is to one day own my own cosmetology school and become a certified accountant. In my free time, I enjoy reading and catching up on my favorite TV shows or spending time with my family and friends.

MIONNA, CONTRIBUTING WRITER

Talk Tresses Headshot

Hey y’all! My name is Mionna and I’m a natural hair and lifestyle blogger over at www.justmiblog.com. I began my blog in 2013 after going natural the previous year. The main reason I started my blog was to chronicle my natural hair journey. I want to have a running tab of everything going on with my hair, the good and the bad! I hope to inspire people who are thinking about going natural, are natural already and need someone to relate to, or who just need a little guidance and an ear to listen. I want y’all to know I’m here, going through some of the very same thoughts and things you’re going through. Based on my own experiences, I share my stories with you one post at a time, with hopes that I can help somebody out there! I’m not a natural hair expert by any means. I am, however, living my life with natural hair! I share many of my free time activities on Twitter and IG (@allnaturalmi) because I enjoy interacting with my followers & readers. As much as I love blogging, there’s nothing like that one on one interaction! I am who I am and I can’t help being Just Mi!
